The Blind Sports Foundation is extremely honoured to support blind sports such as athletics, cricket, goalball, golf, swimming, indoor bowls, judo, powerlifting, lawn bowls, sailing, swish, tandem cycling and tenpin bowling.
A tandem bike, which has the legally blind person at the back and a front rider steering, costs around $8,000 per bike. With specialized balls required for blind cricket, a runner necessary to run next to the person for athletics, a caddy/spotter required for each person in golf, and a guide needed for every bowler, people who are vision impaired must have assistance to pursue their sporting dreams.
The Blind Sports Foundation offers sports grants to blind and vision impaired sports men, women and children.
Associations, clubs, community groups and individuals are invited to apply for funding.
More information on how to make an application to our Blind Sports Grants Program can be found by clicking here.
